Other Ingredients & Equipment You'll Need: Cutting Board, Scale, Microwave Safe Containers, Large Knife, Microwave, 9x13" Pan, Rubbing Alcohol.
Intstructions:
- First, prepare the red soap. Weigh out and melt 456 grams of the Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap. Once you have melted the soap, add 23 grams of the Season's Greetings Fragrance Oil and 35 drops of the tomato red soap color. Also, use a toothpick to add just a small amount of the black oxide soap colorant. Stir.
- Next, pour the red soap onto one of your pans. Spray with rubbing alcohol to release air bubbles. You will want to remove the soap from the pan when it has setup but is still warm to the touch. This will take approximately 20 minutes. However, setup time can vary depending on the temperature that you poured as well as the temperature of the room you are working in.
- Now, place your soap on a cutting board in front of you horizontally. Then, slice it into strips vertically that are about ¼ inch wide. Set these aside for now, we will come back to them.
- If you have a second pan this step can be done while you are waiting for the red soap to finish setting up. We will now prepare the green soap. Once again, weigh out and melt 456 grams of the Diamond Clear Melt and Pour Soap. Once soap is melted, add 23 grams of the Season's Greetings Fragrance Oil and 20 drops of the neon green soap color along with 3 drops kelly Green. Also, use a toothpick to add just a small amount of the black oxide soap colorant. Stir.
- Next, pour the green soap onto one of your pans. Spray with rubbing alcohol to release air bubbles. You will want to remove the soap from the pan when it has setup but is still warm to the touch. Once again, this will take approximately 20 minutes. However, setup time can vary depending on the temperature that you poured as well as the temperature of the room you are working in.
- Again, place your soap on a cutting board in front of you horizontally. Then, slice it into strips vertically that are about ¼ inch wide.
- At this time, you will need one of your empty pans and the strips you created in both colors. Place the strips in the pan, leaving about ¼Â” gaps in between. Wherever the gaps are when you are finished, the soap will be white in color. So, you can lay the strips in whatever order you would like. We created some that simply had green and white lines, others with red and white lines, and some using both colors with white. The choice is yours.
- Prepare the white soap. Weigh out and melt 655 grams of the Mango Butter Melt and Pour Soap Base. Once melted, add 32 grams of the Season's Greetings Fragrance Oil. Stir.
- Spray the soap strips in the pan with rubbing alcohol to ensure that they adhere to the white soap. Then, pour the melted soap into the pan containing the strips. Once again, spray the soap with rubbing alcohol to remove any air bubbles. Just as you have before, remove the soap from the pan while it is still warm to the touch but has setup. When it is at this stage it is still flexible. So, the timing is very important for this step.
- Quickly and carefully slice your soap into 8 strips. Then, trim the edges and bend your soap into the shape of ribbon candy and allow it to finish cooling.
- You will notice you still have green and red strips leftover. This leftover soap can be used as embeds in other projects, or used to create more ribbon candy soap!
Your ribbon soap is now ready to use!
